An African Disneyland - South Africa, Africa

South Africa is a wild wondrous land with so much to offer!

I would suggest starting off at Johannesburg, located in the eastern plateau area known as the Highveld.

It will not only help ease you into the countries unique culture and lifestyle, but you’ll also get the chance to start off with some shopping! Head over to Johannesburg's largest shopping center Sandton City and enjoy the AUS-Rand conversion rate.

If you get the chance don’t forget to stop by the local flea markets. For fashion lovers a trip to the Oriental Plaza is a must, but if you’re more interested in acquiring some of the creative and beautiful local arts and crafts, the Rosebank Flea Market is where you want to be.

Getting in touch within your inner Tarzan, take a drive up to the Kruger National Park one of the largest game reserves in Africa and home to Africa’s Big 5.

Stay with Wilderness Safaris at their luxurious Pafuri Camp situated on the Limpopo River, next to the borders of both Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

While staying at there, you’ll be living in lavish tent apartments, going on morning and night safari drives and walks, exploring archaeological trails and relaxing by day at the swimming pool overlooking the Limpopo River which is full with animal life. I never wanted to leave because it was so serene and peaceful!

Most importantly, your stomach will never go hungry! Throughout the day you will be provided with mouth watering meals, tasty local snacks and drinks of your choice. Pafuri Camp is certainly the perfect example of how to camp in luxury!

On the way back home to Johannesburg, take the scenic route via Pilanesberg to visit Sun City, internationally renowned as Africa’s premier holiday resort and Kingdom of Pleasure.
Sun City has a total of 4 world-class hotels ranging in price levels to choose from, the best being the Palace of the Lost City.  It is a fairytale African palace that towers over the scenic valley whose astounding architecture was inspired by a fantasy lost African tribe.

It is surrounded by lush botanical gardens and rainforests, trickling streams and hidden walking trails giving it a heavenly atmosphere you could get lost in. It also features a glamorous casino, world class theatres and concerts and 2 world-renowned golf courses: the Gary Player Golf and the Lost City Golf Course.
The Sun City theme park is an iconic fantasy land where you get to travel across a bridge of time over a roaring lagoon, guarded by elephants, into a water world of excitement and exotic entertainment options.

It holds the famous Valley of the Waves wave pool, which generates a super powerful 1.8m wave every 90 seconds, the Temple of Courage, a 2km long and 280m high slide where one can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h and the peaceful giant walk through aviary.

Sun City has been described as:
“Las Vegas meets Arabian Nights... An African Disneyland on steroids.”
It’s definitely on the list of top 10 places to go!
